Loved this! Saw lots of gators when I was there back in January 2012 I think. We camped on one of the platforms. I won't ever forget the soundscape!
I like the idea of camping on the platforms (they call them chickees) but I'm also a little wary because I'm not much of a camper. But I would try. We should try it together.
We visited in February and hardly saw gators at all. The ranger said they stay in the water on cold days.
Dougie, there are 15,000 alligators in that swamp. You need to go back. Let's go in October?
